The Most Super Supper Club Yet!A whopping $54,000 was raised for the House at our fifth Supper Club fundraiser on Tuesday 9 October. The Supper Club is our largest annual fundraising event and it continues to grow each year. We are just delighted with the result and the success of events like the Supper Club mean we can keep our doors open to more families. 300 of Wellington’s leading business people and socialites gathered at the Royal Port Nicholson Yacht Club for a cocktail party courtesy of Martin Bosley’s. Martin said he was delighted to again be involved with the event. “It is a special night for this region’s families and children and we’re proud to be involved and show our support,” he said. The enthusiastically supported auction included entertainment at the City Fire Station with dinner by firefighter and former personal chef of Naomi Watts, Matt Morris; dinner by Martin Bosley overlooking the Harbour at Wellington’s Point Jerningham Start Box; as well as a golf package holiday, kids art, and a day at the Trentham races. Our sincere gratitude and thanks to all the auction sponsors for providing such an exciting array of items and experiences for our guests to bid on. Following the auction, guests were matched to a restaurant and then whisked to their dinner venues by the wonderful team at Wellington Combined Taxis. “Wellington’s restaurateurs have really pulled together to make this event happen for the region’s families and we are so grateful for their support,” said Lesely Slieker, Executive Director. “We sincerely thank those who have supported us in previous years and welcome those who have joined us this year to our Supper Club family.” |
